I was born and raised in Paw Paw, Michigan, where I attended Trinity Lutheran Church. I’ve been married to my husband Jason since May of 2011. Jason was born and raised Catholic and became a part of the Lutheran Church in 2014. We were very active in our Church as the Stewardship (Whole Live) leads. In the years in this role we kept feeling as though the Lord was calling us deeper, so we packed up our family and Jason switched careers. He graduated in May 2024, was ordained, and we are now preparing to serve on the mission field in Belize in 2025.
Our four children have grown so much in these four short years at the seminary. Gideon is 12 years old and in 7th grade, followed by three sisters, Esther is 11 years old and in 5th grade, Martha is 8 years old and in 2nd grade, and Joanna is 5 and is too smart for her own good with three older siblings. She spends her days attempting to teach everyone.
If you’d have asked me when I married Jason, “Did you see yourself becoming a Pastors wife?”, I’d have probably laughed. It’s crazy how the Lord works in our lives. I’m super excited for all that He has in store for us. I think ministry is a role to be shared with the whole family. There are many ways in which we can minister to people, but at the end of the day, ministry is just doing life together: leaning on one another and speaking the truth of the Lord back into our hearts, when all that is at our fingertips can lead us astray from the path He has placed before us.
When I first started getting into blogging it was to just put into words my thoughts and feelings, and to see what the Lord had to say about them. But then I thought “What if others felt this way too, yet thought they were alone in those feelings?” This is when I decided to share more frequently vs. whenever the mood hit me. I’m excited to be here, doing life, with you!
