As of this writing I will have just celebrated 24 years of marriage with my high school sweetheart, Ben, currently in his 3rd year at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. It hasn’t always been easy, but one thing I know is that we wouldn’t have made it this far if it hadn’t been for God.

We did struggle with infertility for some time, but we eventually had four children: Sean, Gabriella, Alexandra, and our “surprise,” Natalie. They have kept us busy and humble, and they occasionally drive me crazy, but I think I’ll keep them.

I grew up as a PK (preacher’s kid) and an MK (missionary kid), and so the church has always been a huge part of my life. There have been times when I wasn’t sure I wanted it to be though, and so I can empathize with the faith struggles that can occur in life.

I’m encouraged by other women who can speak authentically about their struggles and successes, and so I hope to offer up some encouragement of my own! Though don’t ask me about raising teens, I have no idea what I’m doing…
