I have been married to my best friend Jason for 17 years. We have 2 teenagers Cerenity and Luke who are both in high school. Jason works as an IT professional for a large Steel Mill in Western PA. Cerenity enjoys art and music. Luke enjoys video games, building things and learning about different aspects of engineering. I enjoy all things Christmas and I like to daydream about opening a year-round Christmas store someday.

I am originally from Black Forest, CO and I am 1 of 10 children both biological and adopted. I’ve been a resident of PA for 18 years. Growing up I dreamed about becoming a nurse. After my first semester of nursing school, medical problems prevented me from further pursuing my nursing dream. I studied journalism and software engineering but I was not as passionate about either field as I was with Nursing. I discovered my career path as a homemaker and taking care of my family. Being a homemaker is a full-time job and an ongoing learning experience.

We raised our kids in Western PA and are members at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot, PA. Both of our kids attended the Lutheran School there from Pre-K to 8th grade. I help teach Sunday School weekly, I am a part of the Mission Board Committee and help run our church food pantry. Over the years I’ve helped plan and implement multiple volunteer opportunities for our congregation in our community. At the heart of my faith is the desire to serve and help others.

In helping others, I’ve always had a desire to write and share encouragement with others. I hope through my writing with LUTHERWOMEN, that readers can relate to me, share insight through the word and encourage people to lean into their faith no matter what the circumstance.
