Christena Estby

I am married to Cory and we have four kids, Gabriel (firefighter/paramedic), Kaleigh (studying dance and choreography in college), Samuel (the “Professor”), and Josiah (the “comedian”). We have lived in Grant Park, IL where Cory serves as pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, for 18 years.

I grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis, but have really grown to appreciate the peace and quiet of country living. I have always loved words, but only in the last couple of years discovered how much I love to WRITE. I have a blog at Christena Writes, and I have authored four books (memoir-style story of adoption and terminal diagnosis), a daily devotional, and Advent and Lenten journals. I recently began a part-time remote position as a Communications Assistant. These opportunities have allowed me to write, proofread, and edit to my heart’s content.

I have learned valuable lessons about being open and vulnerable with others in my life and how doing so makes those relationships all the richer.

Fun fact: I ran a marathon a couple of years ago!

I am honored to be here and look forward to learning more about the mission and ministry of LUTHERWOMAN and how my skills my help the ministry grow.
