I am married to Micah and we have 3 amazing children – Jonathan, Talitha, and David. We also have what I like to call “bonus children” our 4 exchange students we have hosted in the past and still keep up with – Alessandra, Luca, Sebastian, and Nadia.
I was born in England while my parent’s were missionaries there and moved to America in time for the wonderful, awkward years of High School. There were a few different things I struggled with as I adjusted to American culture, including understanding what I am supposed to do in life.
I volunteered with as many opportunities as I could, whether it was as a camp counselor at a camp for persons with developmental disabilities or at an afterschool program in an impoverished neighborhood. At some point, I realized I just want to care for others, so I applied to Concordia Chicago and did the undergraduate Deaconess program there.
College wasn’t necessarily easy. There was much room to learn and grow personally and spiritually. I met some amazing people, including my husband and we have been together since. I never really thought I’d be married to a Pastor, but here I am.
I have gained some interesting experiences along the way as my husband and I moved for Seminary, for Vicarage, for a year study abroad, and then to his different calls. I know there is still so much more to learn and ways to grow together as sisters in Christ. I am excited to share my joys and struggles as your dear sister.
